Stem-Cell Therapy

By using commercial adipose derived stem cells through Vet-Stem or bone marrow derived stem cells cultured at the University of Pennsylvania’s New Bolton Center or through VetCell, our veterinarians can perform the newest procedures for our patients in the aggressive treatment of severe, career jeopardizing soft tissue injuries involving the tendons and ligaments of the lower limb. Using either a small incision near the tail to gain access to fat or a minor bone marrow aspiration procedure in the sternum or pelvis, we harvest your horse’s own tissue that with concentration or culturing and expansion, can provide significant and fast healing.
