Sarah Thompson, BVMS MRCVS

Sarah recently moved to the United States from the United Kingdom with her Dachshund Rupert and joined our team in October 2023. This was after completing a fellowship in imaging at the Royal Veterinary College where she underwent training on the acquisition and reporting of all the imaging modalities, and taught Vet students.

Sarah is originally from Jamaica, where her love for horses and Dachshunds started. With caring for her own ponies, working at a local stud farm and working at the largest racetrack in the Caribbean, Caymanas park.

Sarah attended the University of Edinburgh - Royal Dick Vet school where she was a Trek leader in the Pony trekking club and graduated in 2018. In 2018, she underwent an externship working at the Dubai Equine Hospital with Arab show horses, endurance and flat racehorses mainly. She then started a racing internship at the Hong Kong Jockey club where she further developed her skills working with racehorses as well as her imaging and research skills. During her time in Hong Kong she was able to participate in multiple research projects and publish an article on Tilden detection times in the Thoroughbred racehorse.

In 2020 Sarah started her own practice in Jamaica where she serviced the local racehorses and polo ponies, before moving back to the UK in 2021 to work at Bell Equine in Kent, UK.

Sarah has a passion for imaging, orthopaedics, racing and sports horses and hopes to utilise advanced imaging to help improve the welfare of horses.
